Refuge Magoo is a dedicated dog rescue based in Vaudreuil that has been saving lives for many years. Our mission is simple but powerful, to give dogs a second chance at life.

Each dog that comes through our doors is brought to safety, provided with veterinary care, nourishing food, and a warm place to rest. But most importantly, they’re surrounded by love from our compassionate volunteers. At Refuge Magoo, our commitment doesn’t end when a dog is adopted — it continues for life. We care deeply about every dog that passes through our rescue, and we take pride in ensuring that each one finds a safe, loving, and stable forever home. We’re often described as “overprotective,” and we embrace that proudly. After all, a lack of protection is what led many of these dogs to need rescuing in the first place.

We understand we may not be the right fit for everyone — and that’s okay. We believe in transparency every step of the way, and we encourage adopters to find the rescue that best matches their values and needs. At Refuge Magoo, our focus will always remain where it belongs: on the dogs.

Our rescue ensures all of the dogs up for adoption are sterilized, receive up to date vaccinations, screened for heart-worm and Tick diseases including Lyme as well as micro chipping. Sterilization of our dogs promotes the importance of population control and ending indiscriminate breeding. Refuge Magoo is registered charitable organization.

Refuge Magoo is a non-kill shelter and with the exception of extreme terminal medical conditions, euthanization is never an option. We provide lifetime sanctuary for those who may never find a forever home.
